How to book a ride:
Create an account
Download the Metrobus On Demand app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store and follow the simple signup steps. You can also book a ride by calling us at (709) 722-9400.
Book a ride
Enter your pickup and drop-off addresses, choose the ride that works best for you and tap Book This Ride.
Meet your driver
Check the app to find exactly where to meet the vehicle. It may be short walk from where you are, but your designated pickup point helps to cut down on travel time and makes your trip faster. The app will tell you exactly where your pickup point will be.
About Metrobus On Demand
What is Metrobus on Demand?
Metrobus On Demand is a pilot shared-ride service that lets riders request trips in real-time through a mobile app or over the phone by selecting a pickup point and destination. It's an on-demand ride service, meaning it doesn't follow a specific schedule or a route like traditional public transit. Simply give us your pickup and drop-off addresses and choose a ride option that works best for you. Walk a short distance to meet your Driver at a nearby corner and we'll do the rest.
How do I pay for rides?
Just like on a regular Metrobus, we accept mCards and cash on board. If paying with cash, please have exact fare available as our Driver's do not carry change.
How much does it cost?
Regular transit rates apply and you can transfer to any regular Metrobus to complete your trip if your destination is outside of the On Demand Service Zone or not one of the designated Service Hubs. If you are paying cash fare, be sure to ask your Driver for a paper transfer to complete your trip. For current transit fares, visit metrobus.com/fares.

Why do I need to walk to meet my Driver?
Think of our On Demand service like a mix between a bus and a taxi -- you'll be riding in a shared minibus, but instead of waiting for your ride at a traditional bus stop, we'll assign you a "virtual bus stop" -- a pickup and drop-off point that is usually at a corner near the exact addresses you provided. You may need to walk a short distance to meet your Driver, but it cuts down on travel time and shortens your trip time.

Service Zone and Service Hubs
The On Demand service is made up of a Service Zone and Service Hubs as shown the map below.
Trips can be taken from:
Trips cannot be taken from one Service Hub to another Service Hub.
Example trips using the On Demand Service
Travel within the On Demand service zone shown above or travel from the On Demand Service Zone to one of the three Service Hubs or travel from one of the three Service Hubs to anywhere in the On Demand Service Zone. For example you can take a trip:
You cannot take a trip from a Service Hub to another Service Hub. For example, you cannot travel from downtown (a Service Hub) to Sobeys, Merrymeeting Road (a Service Hub)
The On Demand service operates Monday to Friday (except holidays) approximately 8:00a to 8:00p (operating hours are subject to change)
