Limited service available December 25, 26 & January 1

This year, we will be piloting a limited On Demand service that will operate from approximately 12:00p - 8:00p on December 25th, 26th and January 1st.

Rides are available within the St. John’s service area and must be pre-booked (reserved) using our On Demand app or by calling (709) 722-9400.  Rides are limited and our regular fixed routes will not be operating on these days. Ride reservations for December 25th, 26th and January 1st can be made starting December 10th up to and including December 22nd.

A number of route changes will be taking effect on January 5th, 2026

Routes 3A/3B: 

Route 3A will no longer be operating.  Route 3B will continue to operate but will be known simply as route 3. For service on Aberdeen Avenue/Stavanger Drive/Carrick Drive where route 3A currently operates, please see route 23 below. For service on Newfoundland Drive east of Carrick Drive, you will need to access route 23 on Newfoundland Drive or route 2 on Logy Bay Road.

Routes 14: 

Route 14 will have an additional bus (14-2) in service during weekday morning and afternoon peak periods.

Route 23:

Route 23 will operate all day Monday to Friday.  During weekday service, route 23 will not service Bell’s Turn, Hunt's Lane, Gloucester Street or Ridge Road.  Route 23 evening and weekend service is not affected.

Route 26:

Route 26 will begin each trip in Kenmount Terrace a little earlier than the current schedule.

Metrobus On Demand service is changing to route 29:

The current On Demand service operating in the east end of St. John’s will be changing to a fixed route to be known as route 29.  Route 29 will provide service between Signal Hill Road, MUN Centre, Mount Scio Road and Marine Institute, seven days a week. The current On Demand service will no longer be operating after January 2nd, 2026.

Metrobus employees and passengers have a right to be treated with dignity and respect at all times without the risk of threatening behaviour or violence. Aggressive, offensive or violent behaviour will not be tolerated.
